We are a company that provides high quality services in various business areas, particularly accounting and financial consulting, tax, management consulting, and brand and business valuation. Our team comprises independent professionals with an extensive professional experience in these areas, including within BIG Four consulting firms. We put at disposal of our clients and business partners a network of specialised, multidisciplinary consultants that aim to provide value added services.

We are independent, since we do not provide auditing or statutory auditing services. We do not compete with such services, but we complement this offer with our own specialised services.

João Baluarte


João has over 25 years of professional experience, having started his career in the Audit Department of Moore Stephens. Between 1995 and 2002 he was the Administrative and Financial Director of Mestre d´Aviz SGPS, SA, the holding company of the Group that owned Novodesign and Nova Publicidade (later Brandia).

In 2003, he started his activity as a financial and management consultant for companies and businesses, having set up Finserg - Serviços de Gestão, S.A.

Alongside these activities, in the period between January 2010 and December 2017, João was one of the Partners responsible for the Portuguese and Spanish markets at the multinational Brand Finance, where he was responsible for the valuation of various brands, including some of the most valuable brands in these markets.

Between 2010 and 2020, he was also a Non-Executive member of the Board of Directors of Lift SGPS, SA (Lift World), a leading communications consultancy group.

Since January 2010, he has held the position of Partner at ON Strategy, a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing analysis, strategy and consultancy services to maximise performance and brand value.

Célia Castanheiro


Célia is the Managing Director of Quantera Global Portugal, the Portuguese subsidiary of the Dutch multinational Quantera Global, a leading independent advisory firm, a specialist transfer pricing firm.

She is also the Partner responsible for tax at Finserg.

She is Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of IMOPÓLIS - Sociedade Gestora de Organismos de Investimento Coletivo, S.A.

Célia is also a reserve member for the Supervisory Board of LG Electronics Portugal, SA.

She is an economistspecialized in the Tax fields of  Transfer Pricing and Trade & Customs. She has more than 25 years of hands-on experience in Tax, mostly in Transfer Pricing in a Big Four firm.

She joined KPMG in 1998 in the indirect taxes technical group, as a tax consultant responsible for providing technical support to importing and exporting companies in the Trade & Customs area. As a tax consultant she has also provided support to companies in the area of value added tax on goods and services transactions, both at a domestic and international level.

From 2000 to 2018 she held the position of Senior Manager in the Tax Department in the area of Transfer Pricing.

She was responsible for defining transfer pricing methodologies and policies, their implementation and documentation for national and multinational economic groups.

She has solid knowledge and vast experience in projects in the area of value chain restructuring in Multinational companies as well as Portuguese groups.

Célia started her professional career in the financial department of Shell Portuguesa, where she worked in the areas of accounting, internal control and tax.

Sandra Coutinho


Sandra has over 25 years of professional experience in tax consulting.

She began her career in the Audit Department of KPMG. From 1998, she joined KPMG's Tax Department in the area of Direct Taxes and held the position of Senior Manager at that Big Four between 2002 and 2011.

From 2012 she continued to provide services within the tax industry, as an independent consultant being responsible for the technical supervision and training of various tax departments. She is also responsible for the restructuring projects at Finserg.

Her professional experience has focused on the areas of:

  • tax advice on Corporate Income Tax;
  • participation in special due-diligence operations in the tax area;
  • restructuring operations in a wide variety of financial, industrial, commercial and service companies, having been involved in a vast number of projects;
  • tax litigation;
  • Sandra has participated, both as a trainee and trainer, in various national and international tax courses.

Eduardo Goldszal


Eduardo has over 30 years of professional experience and is currently partner at MEER Tax, an independent tax and valuation firm based in the US. He is also a Partner of Finserg’s tax practice.

Previously, Eduardo held the position of vice president of tax, senior director of finance and head of transfer pricing at NCR Corporation, where he worked for about eight years. NCR is a US-based technology company with over 35,000 employees, which operates at a worldwide level.

Before joining NCR in 2011, Eduardo was a partner at KPMG in Portugal. For 15 years at KPMG, Eduardo led the transfer pricing practices in the Miami and Lisbon offices.

Eduardo is involved in the analysis of different aspects in the areas of tax and transfer pricing, including defending tax adjustments in tax audits, dispute resolution, tax planning, compliance, business valuation, US FIN 48, and (operational) transfer pricing in virtually all sectors and countries.

Eduardo has a Ph.D. in Economics from The New School in New York.

Manuel Corte


Manuel has more than 25 years of professional experience. Between 1993 and 2003 he was Sub‑Director of the treasury department at Mestre d´Aviz SGPS, SA, the holding company of the Group that owned Novodesign and Nova Publicidade (later Brandia).

In 2004, he joined Finserg’s team as head of the accounting area, and since then has been its Director. He has a degree in Business Management from ISEG.
